When COVID pivot plans aligned with a temporary career furlough, I turned unexpected downtime into a true passion project: custom-branding my own wedding. Wanting to move beyond standard templates from platforms like The Knot or Zola, I executed the entire vision in-house—from custom site design down to hand-dyeing table runners.

Brand Identity & Concept: Developed the complete visual theme, color palette, and custom hashtag framework for the entire wedding experience.
Stationery & Print Design: Designed and produced all print collateral, including save-the-dates, formal invitation suites, menus, and personalized day-of signage.

Event Styling & Decor Details: Curated and handcrafted custom reception details, table layouts, and visual touchpoints to bring the brand identity to life across the venue.
Digital & Guest Experience: Created custom digital assets and managed clear guest communications to seamlessly adapt to changing event guidelines.

MAKING IT HAPPEN: CREATIVITY & HUSTLE

Planning a wedding during a pandemic furlough meant leaning into resourcefulness and family support. I bought a sewing machine, taught myself to sew, and launched handmadebyrad—an artisanal mask brand using textiles sourced from my parents' native Guatemala.

Between a business that quickly scaled nationwide and the unwavering backing of my family, this project allowed us to bring our full wedding vision to life without compromising on design.

Product & Brand Creation: Self-taught machine sewing and built a distinct brand identity rooted in authentic Guatemalan textiles.
National Reach & Demand: Scaled a high-volume pre-order model and fulfilled over 1,000 orders coast-to-coast, from Massachusetts to California.
Community & Family: Combined small-business revenue with family support to turn a challenging period into a successful, meaningful venture.

While that chapter is now closed, I'm incredibly grateful for the massive support and love I received, which truly helped me have a dream wedding
